Budget-Friendly Dining Room Updates

Are you one of those people who have been dreaming of giving your dining room a complete overhaul? But realistically a sizable project such as this is not going to happen anytime soon, or maybe you’re one who likes your dining room the way it is but wants to change a few components.  Wherever you stand on this matter, you also are just reminding yourself you’ve agreed to host this holiday season and, –OMG how is it already October? I can’t have my guests seeing my dining room like this!  Stay calm!  Studio L has gathered a few easy fixes to help you transform or just refresh your dining room just in time for holiday hosting, all while staying within a reasonable budget!

START BY “SLIPPING” INTO SOMETHING MORE COMFORTABLE!

When it comes to dining rooms, there’s no quicker design fix than slipcovers! A simple, yet effortless solution to revamp your space with the seasons or whenever you think your dining room is in needs a change of scenery.

Design Tip: Look for machine-washable slipcovers that can easily be cleaned when spills happen.

WAKE UP THOSE WALLS!

As a space for entertaining, your dining room walls can do the same! Sometimes all a space needs is a fresh coat of paint. A new coat of paint is a minimal way to give your dining room a sleek and updated look! Another option is adding wallpaper or wall coverings. Whether to one wall or four, adding wallpaper or a coat of paint is an easy and budget friendly solution to refreshing your dining room’s overall look!

Design Tip: Scared of the commitment? Temporary wallpaper comes in a variety of colors, textures and designs for an easily interchangeable look. You can start with an accent wall

HANG FROM THE CHANDELIER!

Another refresh solution can be as simple as hanging a new chandelier or light fixture. Make your light fixture the focal point of the dining room, it’s budget-friendly and an easy upgrade.

Design Tip: When it comes to chandeliers, the more dramatic the better. Want even more impact? Choose a lighting fixture in a bold color!
