Project: Studio L Place to Dwell – Guest Bathroom Reveal

Hey everybody – I am more than a little late with sharing the final reveal of the guest bathroom at my own home! As you might know, we purchased a completely gutted home in Spring 2018, spent 6 months renovating it, moved in Fall 2018, and I have taken my sweet time with styling and accessorizing the various spaces ALL YEAR LONG. 🙂 The styling is my favorite part of the process, and I really wanted to get it right before showing you the finished space! Let’s go back a bit and see where this all started.

PROJECT: STUDIO L PLACE TO DWELL – GUEST BATHROOM DESIGN PLAN

I wrote about the design plan for this guest bathroom while the renovation was in full swing. I really wanted this room to be a fun and unexpected departure from the overall style of the rest of the house…..a “wow” moment when you open the door. The patterned tile was my inspiration for adding some whimsy, and a rich green hue for the vanity for drama and color.

Here are the design elements:

And in case you are really into this eclectic, funky mix – I’ve sourced all of the bathroom items (or similar) for easy shopping!

PROJECT: STUDIO L PLACE TO DWELL – GUEST BATHROOM PROGRESS

I wasn’t kidding when I said this home was a complete blank slate when we started! Check out the pics below… I assembled all of the progress photos throughout most of the renovation. It’s fun to see the various elements as they are added. We decided to keep the layout the same…no need to change a good thing!

PROJECT: STUDIO L PLACE TO DWELL – GUEST BATHROOM AFTER

And here is the finished, styled, accessorized guest bathroom…..don’t accessories make all the difference?! I love how the vintage pottery with wild greenery adds drama and height to the vanity top. Throughout the space, you will see warm woods, touches of brass, matte black finishes, small pops of rust, and earthy greens.

In this view, you can see how necessary contrast is added through black, with the graphic shower curtain and bath towels. And what do you think about the colorful antique rug? I like how it adds an unexpected punch of color and layers in even more pattern. This bathroom has plenty of floor space, so I added a rustic acacia wood accent table next to the tub for special bath time essentials.

So there we have it – our super eclectic guest bathroom. Does this design leave you scratching your head? Or are you into the eclectic, unexpected mix of materials, finishes and colors? I’d love to hear from you in the comments box below – let me know if you are “yay” or “nay” on this design!

Be sure to keep checking back in the coming weeks for more reveals – I’m working on the next posts for the kitchen and entry!
